06/07/2012 T.C. Ch. 16, Sec. 16-4. PERMITS REQUIRED. Unless otherwise exempt pursuant to section 301 of the Administrative Code, as adopted by reference per section 6-1 of this Code, or pursuant to any other ordinance or statute, no building, structure or building service equipment regulated by this chapter or by the technical codes adopted by the city shall be built, erected, constructed, enlarged, altered, repaired, moved, improved, removed, converted or demolished unless a permit first has been obtained from the building official in the manner provided in the administrative and building codes adopted by the city. The purpose of a permit is to ensure that all construction is inspected by qualified City of Tucson personnel as directed by ordinance to verify compliance with city codes. Failure to obtain proper permit with inspections and approvals shall deem the construction to be unsafe.

AFTER ENTERING THE BUILDING MY INSPECTION FOUND ALTERATIONS BEING MADE TO THE STRUCTURE, FLOOR JOISTS BEING CUT, WALLS BEING ADDED DRYWALL AND ELECTRICAL CHANGES BEING MADE. INFORMED MAINTANENCE PERSON JIM DRAPER (390-9074) THAT AFTER INSPECTING THE TYPE OF WORK BEING DONE AND THE AMOUNT OF WORK THAT A PERMIT PLANS AND PERMITS WOULD BE REQUIRED BECAUSE OF THE SAFETY ISSUES. FACITILTY MANAGER IS JUSTIN HERNANDEZ (247-5041) AND WOULD ULTIMATELY BE RESPOSNSIBLE FOR THE PLANS AND PERMITS. ** ON 6/05 I RECEIVED A CALL FROM JIM DRAPER WHO MENTIONED THAT THEY HAD GONE DOWN TO DSD AND SECURED A PERMIT IN APPLIED STATUS AND THAT A ARCHITECT HAD BEEN CONTACTED. ALSO MENTIONED ADDITIONAL WORK BEING COMPLETED IN A DIFFERENT AREA OF THE BUILDING WOULD BE INCLUDED. I CHECKED P+ AND FOUND THAT THE PERMIT HAD BEEN ISSUED IN APLLIED STATUS TO JUSTIN HERNANDEZ.
