03/16/2011 VIOL - FIRE PROTECTION SYSTEMS JLONGO Correction Required 901.4 Installation. Fire protection systems shall be maintained in accordance with the original installation standards for that system. Required systems shall be extended, altered, or augmented as necessary to maintain and continue protection whenever the building is altered, remodeled or added to. Alterations to fire protection systems shall be done in accordance with applicable standards. _____ Your current cooking equipment is too large for your current hood system. Either stop use of your giddle portion of the cooking device or upgrade your hood system to meet code standards with proper coverage. *** Occupants have agreed to stop use of their cooking equipment as they will be replacing their current stove top with a smaller unit. *** 901.6 Inspection, testing and maintenance. Fire detection, alarm and extinguishing systems shall be maintained in an operative condition at all times, and shall be replaced or repaired where defective. 906.6 Unobstructed and unobscured. Portable fire extinguishers shall not be obstructed or obscured from view. In rooms or areas in which visual obstruction cannot be completely avoided, means shall be provided to indicate the locations of extinguishers. 906.7 Hangers and brackets. Hand-held portable fire extinguishers, not housed in cabinets, shall be installed on the hangers or brackets supplied. The face of an exit sign illuminated from an external source shall have an intensity of not less than 5 foot-candles (54 lux). Internally illuminated signs shall provide equivalent luminance and be listed for the purpose. _____ Fix, repair, and/or replace all non-working exit signs in order to meet code standards 1008.1.8.4 Bolt locks.
