06/23/2011 T.C. Ch. 16, Sec. 16-11(e) PLUMBING SYSTEMS. (2) All dwellings or dwelling units shall have a kitchen, which shall include an indoor cooking area. The cooking area must be provided with a sink separate and apart from any bathroom sink or lavatory. Each kitchen sink shall have hot and cold running water necessary for its normal operation and use.

Every dwelling or dwelling unit shall have an adequate potable water supply. Every plumbing fixture, water and waste-pipe, and gas connection shall be properly installed in accordance with all applicable laws and maintained in good and sanitary working condition so as to prevent structural deterioration or health hazards, and are to be free from leaks and obstructions.

Building numbers shall be a minimum of 15 inches in height. b. Apartment number ranges shall be placed below building numbers or on signage near the building. Apartment number ranges shall be a minimum of eight inches in height. c. Individual apartment numbers shall be a minimum of 3 inches in height for exterior entrances and a minimum of one inch in height for interior (hallway) entrances.

06/23/2011 INSP - INITIAL CODE ENFORCMENT LPUMPHRE Approved Inspected unit 8 for compliance on evaporative cooler and hot water; occupant had both. However, dwelling unit did not have a kitchen, only a room with a bed and a bathroom. A dwelling unit requires a kitchen that has a separate sink from the bathroom and an indoor cooking area. This unit will need to be vacated. Unit lacks a smoke detector. Wiring for the cooler and ceiling light was not done to code, is not protected or supported on the exterior. The ceiling lighting fixture is loose. Unit 10 lacked a smoke detector and has a loose electrical outlet. The 100 gallon gas water heater for Unit 8's building was not installed to code; a coffee can is being used as part of the ventilation system, the bottom door vents are covered; TPRV valve is not vented correctly. The laundry room has several uncovered outlets and J boxes with exposed wiring. Room may have been convered from a carport without permits. Washer is not hooked up to both hot and cold water. Tenant from Unit #1 wants an inspection conducted for loose wiring; he was advised we would schedule a new inspection for the unit. Francine at unit 9 indicated units 4 & 5 also lacked kitchens, but only 4 & 8 were occupied.
