03/01/2011 T.C. Ch. 16, Sec. 16-4. PERMITS REQUIRED. Unless otherwise exempt pursuant to section 301 of the Administrative Code, as adopted by reference per section 6-1 of this Code, or pursuant to any other ordinance or statute, no building, structure or building service equipment regulated by this chapter or by the technical codes adopted by the city shall be built, erected, constructed, enlarged, altered, repaired, moved, improved, removed, converted or demolished unless a permit first has been obtained from the building official in the manner provided in the administrative and building codes adopted by the city. The purpose of a permit is to ensure that all construction is inspected by qualified City of Tucson personnel as directed by ordinance to verify compliance with city codes. Failure to obtain proper permit with inspections and approvals shall deem the construction to be unsafe.

03/01/2011 INSP - INITIAL CODE ENFORCMENT LPUMPHRE Approved Inspection showed exterior lighting around buildings in complex to be non FCO (full cuttoff) fixtures and possibly non-LPS (low pressure sodium; because of this, the lumens allowed per acre may be exceeded; additionally, portions of the wiring to the fixtures is not to code; this in violation of the Tucson Outdoor Lighting Code and NEC. Original fixtures may be grandfathered, but some have been added or modified without permit, particularly the NE corner and east side.
04/20/2011 INSP - FOLLOW UP CODE ENFORCE LPUMPHRE Approved L. Pumphrey and C. Portillo met General Mgr, Rick Hollander (PDSD), electrical contractor on site to review additional electrical hazards Mr. Hollander has identified on the permit T11EL01001 inspection conducted 4/18/11, which was denied. Permit was issued to comply with this code enforcement case. Primary hazards were identified in lighted ballards constructed approx. 5 years ago, which contain unprotected splices (lacking box). Other issues were romex used for exterior lighting on two buildings (not rated for use if lacking conduit). See additional reference notes.
