07/26/2010 T.C. Ch. 16, Sec. 16-4. PERMITS REQUIRED. Unless otherwise exempt pursuant to section 301 of the Administrative Code, as adopted by reference per section 6-1 of this Code, or pursuant to any other ordinance or statute, no building, structure or building service equipment regulated by this chapter or by the technical codes adopted by the city shall be built, erected, constructed, enlarged, altered, repaired, moved, improved, removed, converted or demolished unless a permit first has been obtained from the building official in the manner provided in the administrative and building codes adopted by the city. The purpose of a permit is to ensure that all construction is inspected by qualified City of Tucson personnel as directed by ordinance to verify compliance with city codes. Failure to obtain proper permit with inspections and approvals shall deem the construction to be unsafe.

THERE ARE AREAS OF THE SUB FLOOR THAT IS DAMAGED. I SAW ONE PENETRATION THE DIAMETER OF 1 FOOT BY 1 FOOT FROM THE FIRST FLOOR TO THE BASEMENT. FLOOR JOISTS IN THE BASEMENT AND TERMITE TUNNELS. THE BASEMENT HAS A STAIRWELL RISE THAT EXCEEDS 7 INCHES AND THE RUN IS LESS THAN 11 INCHES. ONE FLOOR JOIST WAS NOTCHED BEYOND ONE-SIXTH OF THE DEPTH OF THE JOIST. ONE 2 X 4 STUD IS BEING USED AS A POST TO SUPPORT THE STAIRWELL BY MEANS OF USING ONE BOLT TO THE FRAMING CROSS MEMBER OF THE STAIRWELL. TWO CMU WALL WERE ERECTED PERPENDICULAR TO THE FLOOR JOIST SYSTEM. THERE ARE THREE 2 BY MEMBERS ACTING AS A BEAM IN THE CENTER OF A 20 FOOT SPAN, UNABLE TO DETERMINE IF THE CMU WALL ARE FULLY GROUTED.
