07/22/2009 INSP - FULL RHEATH Correction Required 1. The fire sprinkler system is overdue its annual servicing / inspection (4/22/02). Have system serviced. INTERNATIONAL FIRE CODE (IFC) 901.6 Inspection, testing and maintenance. Fire detection, alarm and extinguishing systems shall be maintained in an operative condition at all times, and shall be replaced or repaired where defective. 901.6.1 Standards. Fire protection systems shall be inspected, tested annually and maintained in accordance with the referenced standards. 2. A wall partition has been errected blocking the sprinkler coverage into the hallway separating the offices and display area. Lower the partition by 18" to allow sprinkler protection as designed. IFC 901.4 Installation. Fire protection systems shall be maintained in accordance with the original installation standards for that system. Required systems shall be extended, altered, or augmented as necessary to maintain and continue protection whenever the building is altered, remodeled or added to. Alterations to fire protection systems shall be done in accordance with applicable standards.
08/20/2009 VIOL - BUILDING SVCS & SYSTEMS RHEATH Continued All items not corrected: the sprinkler was serviced and 5 year valve inspection performed; some extension cords are still being used. Once sprinkler report is received, I will re-inspect.
