03/06/2009 VIOL - BUILDING SVCS & SYSTEMS MPURSLEY Violation 605.1 Abatement of electrical hazards. Identified electrical hazards shall be abated. Identified hazardous electrical conditions in permanent wiring shall be brought to the attention of the code official responsible for enforcement of the ICC Electrical Code. Electrical wiring, devices, appliances and other equipment that is modified or damaged and constitutes an electrical shock or fire hazard shall not be used… Electrical blanks shall be placed in all open spaces within any electrical panel or box. _____ Place electrical blanks in any open void spaces in your electrical panel 605.3 Working space and clearance A working space of not less than 30 inches in width, 36 inches in depth, and 78 inches in height shall be provided in front of electrical service equipment. Where the service equipment is wider than 30 inches, working space shall be no less than the width of the equipment. No storage of any kind shall be located within the designated working space. _____ Maintain proper working space around all electrical panels according to code. 605.5 Extension cords Extension cords and flexible cords shall not be a substitute for permanent wiring. Cords shall not be affixed to structures, extended through walls, ceilings or floors, or under doors or floor coverings, nor shall such cords be subject to environmental damage or physical impact. Extension cords shall be used only with portable appliances. _____ All extension cords shall be removed and/or replace with approved fused power strips.
03/06/2009 VIOL - FIRE RESIST.RATED CONST MPURSLEY Violation 703.1 Maintenance. The required fire-resistance rating of fire-resistance-rated construction (including walls, fire-stops, shaft enclosures, partitions, smoke barriers, floors, fire-resistive coatings and sprayed fire-resistant materials applied to structural members and fire-resistant joint systems) shall be maintained. Such elements shall be properly repaired, restored or replaced when damaged, altered, breached or penetrated. 03/06/2009 VIOL - MEANS OF EGRESS MPURSLEY Violation 504.2 Maintenance of exterior doors and openings. Exterior doors and their function shall not be eliminated without prior approval. Exterior doors that have been rendered nonfunctional and that retain a functional door exterior appearance shall have a sign affixed to the exterior side of the door with the words THIS DOOR BLOCKED. ***To ensure that there is no confusion on the required exiting from the building the following must be completed A sign stating "NOT AN EXIT" affixed to the interior side of the door. A sign stating "THIS DOOR BLOCKED" affixed to the exterior side of the door. Fire marshal allowing exit configuration because of the small public showroom and the majority of store is employees only*** ____ Place the proper signage as stated above 1027.3 Exit sign illumination. Exit signs shall be internally or externally illuminated. The face of an exit sign illuminated from an external source shall have an intensity of not less than 5 foot-candles (54 lux).
