07/21/2008 VIOL - PRECAUTION AGAINST FIRE JLONGO Correction Required 310.3 "No Smoking" signs. The fire code official is authorized to order the posting of "No Smoking" signs in a conspicuous location in each structure or location in which smoking is prohibited. The content, lettering, size, color and location of required "No Smoking" signs shall be approved. _____ Place more "No Smoking" signs through out the oxygen storage area. 311.5 Placards. Any building or structure determined to be unsafe pursuant to Section 110 of this code shall be marked as required by Sections 311.5.1 through 311.5.5. _____ The proper placards for "oxygen" shall be placed inside and outside the building to indicate the possible danger. Also a "DANGER: OXYGEN" sign will be placed on the outside of the rear exit door.
07/21/2008 VIOL - BUILDING SVCS & SYSTEMS JLONGO Correction Required 605.1 Abatement of electrical hazards. Identified electrical hazards shall be abated. Identified hazardous electrical conditions in permanent wiring shall be brought to the attention of the code official responsible for enforcement of the ICC Electrical Code. Electrical wiring, devices, appliances and other equipment that is modified or damaged and constitutes an electrical shock or fire hazard shall not be used. _____ Place electrical blanks in any open void spaces 605.4 Multi-plug adapters Multi-plug adapters, such as cube adapters, unfused plug strips or any other device not complying with the ICC electrical code shall be prohibited. _____ All Multi-plug adapters shall be removed and/or replace with approved fused power strips.
07/21/2008 VIOL - FIRE PROTECTION SYSTEMS JLONGO Correction Required 901.6 Inspection, testing and maintenance. Fire detection, alarm and extinguishing systems shall be maintained in an operative condition at all times, and shall be replaced or repaired where defective. _____ Service and tag all portable fire extinguishers in order to meet code standards 906.6 Unobstructed and unobscured. Portable fire extinguishers shall not be obstructed or obscured from view. In rooms or areas in which visual obstruction cannot be completely avoided, means shall be provided to indicate the locations of extinguishers. 906.7 Hangers and brackets. Hand-held portable fire extinguishers, not housed in cabinets, shall be installed on the hangers or brackets supplied. Hangers or brackets shall be securely anchored to the mounting surface in accordance with the manufacturer's installation instructions ______ Properly hang all portable fire extinguishers and place in an accessable and visible locations according to code 906.6
07/21/2008 VIOL - MEANS OF EGRESS JLONGO Correction Required 1008.1.8.5 Unlatching. The unlatching of any door or leaf shall not require more than one operation. _____ The front main entrance door secondary locking device shall be disabled or replaced to meet code standards. I.E. the lock shall release when twisted from the interior side. 1008.1.8.4 Bolt locks. Manually operated flush bolts or surface bolts are not permitted. _____ Remove the slide bolts from the rear egress doors and/or replace with an approved locking device. If replaced, then the door shall comply with code 1008.1.8.5 1028.2 Reliability. Required exit accesses, exits or exit discharges shall be continuously maintained free from obstructions or impediments to full instant use in the case of fire or other emergency when the areas served by such exits are occupied. 1028.3 Obstructions. A means of egress shall be free from obstructions that would prevent its use. 1028.5 Furnishings and decorations. Furnishings, decorations or other objects shall not be placed so as to obstruct exits, access thereto, egress there from, or visibility thereof. ____ Keep the west door in the main lobby free from furnishing or any other items that may block its use.
