07/18/2008 VIOL - EMERGENCY PLAN/PREPARE BCORRALE Approved 401.3 Emergency forces notification. In the event an unwanted fire occurs on a property, the owner or occupant shall immediately report such condition to the fire department. Building employees and tenants shall implement the appropriate emergency plans and procedures. No person shall, by verbal or written directive, require any delay in the reporting of a fire to the fire department.
07/18/2008 INSP - LIFE SAFETY BCORRALE Approved On 7-17-08, M26 received a call regarding clarification of small fire reporting to fire departments. A small fire started in lab equipment and was quickly suppressed, with no life threat and only minor damage to a wire. After contacting thier respective safety division the question was brought up regarding reporting to the local fire department. As reflected below, the 2006 Tucson Fire Code, which is adopted from the 2006 International Fire Code, states that ALL unwanted fires shall be reported to the Tucson Fire Dept., via the 911 system. Thank you for your attention to this matter. Any questions, feel free to contact Inspector Brian Corrales at 791-4502 ex.125.
