There was no sales activity apparent, no people and no vehicles at the residence. I made contact with the occupant and she stated that she had a license to sell candy and has been doing so for approximately 4 years. I made an appointment to meet with her at 16:00 hours today, 12-05-07. Results forthcoming.

12/06/2007 INSP - FOLLOW UP CODE ENFORCE DCOX Approved I met with Ms. Mendoza and she stated that she used to sell candies from her house, mainly to the children from the school and the immediate neighborhood. She stated that after the school closed, about three years ago, she hasen't had any business. She stated that ocassionially a child from the neighborhood will stop in for some candy by that it's a rare occurance. She stated that the sign has been in the window for more than four years. She stated further that a neighbor on the street, Shepherd Place, one block to the south has begun to sell candy from their home and suspects that is where the complaint came from. I explained the rules and codes related to home occupation. She took the sign out of the window in my presence and I do not feel that she is in violation of the spirit of the Land Use Code and this violation is closed.
