Property contains a vacant front single family residence (3406 E Fairmount St) and directly south of this is a duplex (1320/1322 N Jones Bl). The fire started in the area between the two buildings. Electrical is off at the meter to all 3 units and gas is off at the meter to all three units upon my arrival. Unit 1320 has smoke inside the unit and the ceiling caving in the kitchen due to apparent water damage. The unit also contains electric hazards including outlets loose and pulled out of wall in bedroom, covers missing, is unsanitary. The unit also lacks cooling (only a window AC, no evap cooler per tenant and owner.) A permit is required with licensed contractor for any required repairs, for electrical reconnect, gas reconnect and for adding cooling to the unit. Unit 1322 has fire damage to the north side of the unit to drywall in the bathroom and living area, unclear if fire damage to structural members. Unit has heavy smoke inside.
