| 07/19/2023 | COT - ENFC - Code Enforcement - Initial | In Violation | Communication called that T.F.D. on site with a building fire. Arrived and all the units were still on site and were checking for hot spots. The fire started in the rear of the property outside the main building and going into the rear of the building area. The fire was by a utility pole and burned vegetation in the neighbors property behind this building. Wires on the pole have been damaged and the block of houses and businesses are without electrical at this time. It appears that the service drop was arcing and may have caused the fire. Fire investigators were on site and checking for cause. The fire burned 2-wood frame storage rooms and a wood frame porch with items underneath the porch and a total lost. The fire damaged a garage door that was in a work space with only smoke damage and the water on the floor putting the fire out. The building was not sprinklered and the main structure has no damage. The glass doors were forced opened and the front door is not able to lock and the glass is cracked. The main door on the side of the building was able to make to lock with the key. A lock was cut to a wood frame storage room and a City of Tucson lock was placed to secure the storage room. Not able to contact the owner and the tenant was not able to secure the building and called Arcaiden Industries to the site. The electrical was removed from the pole to the meter and people are stating that there was arcing before the fire. 2-wood frame storage rooms are burned and had a wood frame roof with items underneath and a total lost. The tenant signed the paperwork and will give to the owner. Did post Do Not Enter on the front window. The water is still on and has no gas or electric to the property. | |
| 07/21/2023 | COT - ENFC - Code Enforcement - Follow Up | Passed | Met with the tenant and took the city lock of the drive gate and gave a key for the lock on the wood frame storage room. The owner has no insurance and will be working on getting the repairs done. The 2-wood frame storage room will need to be removed by demo and the other area cleaned up. The garage door can be replaced with new and no permit required. Will need reconnect permits for the gas and the electrical to be turned back on. At this time the case will be closed. Violation Abated, Close Case. RV. |
