| 05/08/2026 | COT - ENFC - Code Enforcement - Initial | Completed | Arrived on scene at 742 PM and TFD had already left the scene. Contractor was cutting out flooring in Unit 934 when pieces of wood struck the fire sprinkler water supply line and ruptured the pipe. Water shot up into unit 934 and soaked the kitchen area walls and there was standing water inside Unit 934. Light fixture directly above the rupture is water damaged. Water ran down the wall behind stove, GFCI outlet on this wall likely got wet. Found no breakers tripped. The subfloor OSB has an approximately 3 foot by 12 foot area cut out and there is now a hole into the floor where a person could fall into Unit 924 directly below it. Kustom Restoration company arrived on scene and secured the hole into the floor by placing plywood across the entryway to the kitchen and extracted the water. Outlet and fixture shall be replaced. Flooring shall be repaired with an issued permit within 60 days. Unit is condemned and may not be occupied until reinspected by Code Enforcement. -VM |
