03/20/2026 COT - ENFC - Code Enforcement - Initial In Violation Arrived on site at 305 PM and spoke with Captain from TFD who states they were called out due to fire sprinkler alarm. Upon arrival staff at the office said there was no problems, TFD investigated and found the origin of the alarm as Unit 914. Upon arrival at the unit, TFD found water pouring out of the front door and smoke coming out of a window. Upon entry, TFD found the fire sprinkler over the stove activated due to a small fire on the stove, and the right back burner was on, possibly due to food left on the stove. Per TFD, fire did not pass beyond the drywall and there was 2-3 inches of standing water in the unit. Upon inspection, I found water is still draining out of the ceiling space. Paint on wall is bubbling on the wall in the kitchen above the light switch. There is fire damage to appliances, paint, and cabinets. Ceiling above stove at location of fire sprinkler is removed. Romex lines in this space have water on them but no visible cuts to sheathing. Drywall in the area of where the kitchen light fixture was is dry. Water damage to the wall behind the stove. GFCI in this area is wet and likely needs to be replaced as it has come in contact with water. The electrical line to the light switch has likely also come in contact with water and should be replaced. Checked breaker panel and found no water in the panel, and found no breakers tripped. TEP was called out to scene and cut power at 3:50 PM. Property management on scene agreed to secure the unit. A licensed contractor is required for repairs and repairs shall be completed with an Issued permit. Unit is condemned and has been red tagged as unsafe to occupy. Upon return at 8:50 PM the unit has been secured and front door is locked. -VM
