| 04/23/2026 | COT - ENFC - Code Enforcement - Initial | In Violation | 217 pm - Arrived on site and found single family home with a large commercial style sign on south facing wall of home for Kito Sushi and a banner sign on block wall with business hours listed. Side gate is open and walked into a seating area with tables and chairs, multiple "OPEN" signs and an outdoor enclosure with space for vendors. Entered door of structure and found the former garage has been converted into a commercial restaurant with seating, multiple mini-split air conditioning systems, and a counter. There is a door that leads to what would appear to the be a former porch at the southwest corner of the structure which has been enclosed. I could find no fire sprinkler systems installed in the space, and no health department license or Certificate of Occupancy posted. Spoke with owner, he said he has a health department license but he could not find it the entire duration while I was on site, and states the health department has not inspected his kitchen. Explained to him that since the garage has been remodeled without permits, to include electrical and mechanical work; that none of that work was inspected; no fire sprinkler system is installed; the space has not been reviewed for egress or approved for public use as a restaurant space, that the restaurant space would be red tagged as Unsafe to Occupy and he could not operate a restaurant here. A notice was provided requiring the remodel be permitted and inspected, or reverted back to a single family home with permits. Any future instances of operating without the proper permits will result in an immediate citation. -VM | |
| 10/23/2026 | COT - ENFC - Code Enforcement - Follow Up | In Violation | 817 pm - Followup on site. Upon arrival, the gates along Pacheco Av are closed. There are string lights turned on in the yard. The lights inside the structure are on. There is a food truck in the west side of the yard. The name on the food truck is Open Road Kitchen which has a Google Maps listing at this address. At the west side of the property, found a gate open and a lit OPEN sign on display. The food truck is open for business. There is a large area of tables for seating for customers. While on site, a customer on site did come in and pick up food. Spoke to responsible party on site. There have been no attempts to obtain permits for the modifications to the structure. Issued citations as follows: 0007119 for: A - Garage converted to kitchen and restaurant without permits B - Multiple mini splits installed without permits C - Porch at southwest corner of building enclosed with no permits D - Metal structure added to west side of property with no permits 0007120 for: A - Operating a restaurant with no certificate of occupancy B - Operating a food truck in a residential zoned property with no permit C - Operating a peddler on the property with no license -VM |
