09/22/2022 ROBERT SHERRY PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Reqs Change Comment not addressed. All hand sinks, 3-compartment sinks, prep sinks, mop sinks, and floor sinks in the kitchen must discharge to an approved grease interceptor. (Hand sinks in the kitchen are allowed to connect to the sanitary waste system instead of the grease waste system only if each sink has a sign posted above it stating, "HANDWASH SINK ONLY! NO FOOD PREPARATION OR DISHWASHING ALLOWED.") [Initial comment: Verify that the Pima County Regional Wastewater Reclamation Department will allow the drain from the prep sink to bypass the grease interceptor. Reference: Section 1003.3, IPC 2018, as amended by the City of Tucson.]
09/27/2022 ROBERT SHERRY MECHANICAL-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Reqs Change 1. Clarify note 3 of the Toilet Room Exhaust Fan Schedule; it requires the fans to operate "even if lights are off" but still be interlocked with the lights. [Initial comment: Revise the sequence of operation for the restroom exhaust fans so that all of the air supplied to the restrooms will be exhausted (i.e. all of the air supplied to each restroom is to be exhausted during the hours of operation even if the lights are off). The exhausted air from the restrooms shall be limited to no more than 10% of any subsequent supply air stream. Reference: Section 403.2.1 (4), IMC 2018.]
2. The Air Balance Schedule shows a total of 2780 CFM being introduced to the building compared to a total of 1800 CFM being exhausted. Including the 200 CFM of restroom exhaust in the calculation, still results in 780 CFM more outside air than exhaust. Show how over-pressurization of the building will be avoided [Initial comment: The outside air and make-up airflow rates significantly exceed the exhaust airflow rates. Show how over-pressurization of the building will be avoided. Reference: Section 501.4, IMC 2018.]
