08/23/2022 ROBERT SHERRY MECHANICAL-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Reqs Change 1. Revise the sequence of operation for the restroom exhaust fans so that all of the air supplied to the restrooms will be exhausted (i.e. all of the air supplied to each restroom is to be exhausted during the hours of operation even if the lights are off). The exhausted air from the restrooms shall be limited to no more than 10% of any subsequent supply air stream. Reference: Section 403.2.1 (4), IMC 2018.
2. Calculation of the required minimum ventilation for an air handler serving multiple zones requires the balancing data (supply CFM) for each zone and the calculations described in Sections 403.3.1.1.2.3.1 through 403.3.1.1.2.3.4, IMC 2018. Include the area air flow rate (CFM per square foot) as well as the occupant air flow rate (CFM per occupant). Reference: Section 403.3.1.1.2.3, IMC 2018.
3. Coordinate the OSA flow rates shown in the OSA calculations, the rooftop unit schedule, and the air balance schedule. Note: It is physically impossible to have 700 CFM of OSA plus 2300 CFM of return air entering a RTU with only 2000 CFM of supply air. Reference: Section 107.2.1, IBC 2018.
4. The outside air and make-up airflow rates significantly exceed the exhaust airflow rates. Show how over-pressurization of the building will be avoided. Reference: Section 501.4, IMC 2018
5. The mechanical plan shows high velocity diffusers for the make-up air system in close proximity to the face of the Type I hoods. Verify that the location and type of make-up air outlets complies with the hood manufacturer's installation instructions and does not reduce the effectiveness of the exhaust system. Reference: Sections 304.1 and 508.1, IMC 2018.
6. Verify that the evaporative cooling section of the makeup air unit is equipped with a recirculating water system. Reference: Section 928.2, IMC 2018 and ARS Title 45, Chapter 1, Article 12. See text at: (http://www.azleg.gov/viewdocument/?docName=http://www.azleg.gov/ars/45/00313.htm)
08/23/2022 ROBERT SHERRY PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Reqs Change Verify that the Pima County Regional Wastewater Reclamation Department will allow the drain from the prep sink to bypass the grease interceptor. Reference: Section 1003.3, IPC 2018, as amended by the City of Tucson.
