08/09/2022 | ROBERT SHERRY | PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Reqs Change | 1. Clarify the status of the water heater. The Food Service Plumbing Equipment Schedule (P4.1) calls for the existing water to remain but the Plumbing Fixture Schedule (P4.1) calls for a new water heater. Reference: Section 107.2.1, IBC 2018. 2. Provide structural calculations to show that the water heater (approximately 685 pounds) and it's mounting shelf will be safely supported by the building structure. Reference: Section 301.2, IPC 2018 3. The design of the water heater piping (detail 1/P3.2), with a shutoff valve located between the water heater and the expansion tank and the vacuum relief, makes it impossible for the devices to accomplish their intended purposes. Reference: Sections 303.2, 504.1, and 607.3, IPC 2018. 4. Verify that all of the vents (e.g. vents for the floor sinks and the grease interceptor) rise vertically (i.e. greater than 45 degrees above horizontal) to at least 6" above the flood rims of the fixtures they protect prior to running horizontally. Reference: Section 905.4, IPC 2018. |
