All code references are to the 2018 International Residential Code and 2018 International Energy Conservation Code. All features were checked only to the extent allowed by the submittals provided. All portions of this project are assumed to meet or will meet Zoning and other departmental requirements, conditions, and concerns before permit approval.

SITE PLAN:

1. Show the size of electric service and conductor rating to each building, R106.1.1. Identify the utility lines requiring upgrade or replacement since the last approved (with final inspection) permit. This information should be shown on a riser diagram.

FLOOR PLANS:

1. Provide a layout of all utility devices and appliances in the Utility Room including appropriate electrical outlets and panel schedule, R106.1.1. Identify all alterations and improvements as part of this permit or restore as an unimproved storage shed.

ELECTRICAL PLANS:

1. Smoke alarms are required outside each separate sleeping area, R314.3.2. Show a smoke alarm in each bedroom and outside in the immediate vicinity for Unit #2.
2. Provide an electrical riser diagram for each service, E3403. Identify the Utility Room sub panel with feeder protection.
3. Provide a panel schedule showing panel size, circuit numbers, ampacity, wire size and general description for the Utility Room, E3404.13 & E3706.2.
4. Show two or more 2O AMP small appliance circuits at the kitchen countertop receptacle outlets; they may also serve the breakfast room and dining room, but not other locations, E3703.2 and E3901.3. Remove the bathroom from the kitchen countertop circuit in Unit #2. Show Bathroom receptacles with a separate 20 AMP dedicated circuit, E3703.4 and E3901.6.
5. Protect extended branch circuits with combination type arc-fault circuit interrupters, or an AFCI type receptacle at the first outlet on the branch circuit, E3902.17.
6. Show at least one wall switch controlled light at outdoor entrances or exits, E3903.3. Include the Utility Room exits.

INTERNATIONAL ENERGY CONSERVATION CODE:

1. Show the required Utility Room insulation placement for the conditioned space. The simplified prescribed energy value for glazing is U=0.40, ceiling R=38 (R-30 for a qualifying room addition) and walls R=13. Show the “R” values of insulation and the maximum “U” factors of the windows on the plans as well as the solar heat gain coefficient SHGC minimum value of 0.25, N1102.1.
