CANOPY REVIEW COMMENTS:
C1. Provide a copy of the geotech engineer's report mentioned in the Structural Notes on the Structural drawings. - Geotech report provided, comment closed.
C2. Provide a copy of the Structural Calculations so review for structural details as shown can be provided. Specifically provide: gravity load design calculations for the W18x50 beam on grid B spanning between grids 1 and 2; Column design located on grid B1 and B2; Foundations design for the heaviest loaded columns on grid B and the Lateral Design Load Calculations. - Geotech engineer specified specific sub-grade requirements to be followed which isn't mentioned in the construction drawings. For reference, following is the text from geotech report that needs to be included on the foundation details: Shallow spread footings bearing on a minimum of 1 foot of engineered fill plus 8 inches pre-compacted subgrade extending at least 2 feet beyond the footing edges. Item OPEN.
C3. Provide a lap length schedule for the designed concrete strength and designed steel strength. - Item Closed.
C4. The 2018 IBC requires Continuous Special Inspections for Concrete Placement, Soil works and for Deep Foundations, this seems to be in conflict with the schedule of Special Inspections listed on drawing XC110, please either amend the Special Inspection Schedule as listed or else justify the contradiction with engineering logic/ evaluation. - Item Closed.
RETAIL STORE BUILDING REVIEW COMMENTS:
B1. Geotech report and Structural Calculations (for both gravity loads and lateral loads) are required in order to provide a complete Structural review. - Structural Calcs for the building not provided, Item OPEN.
B2. Mechanical Loads located on the roof are not listed as design loads in Structural Notes. -not addressed, Item Open.
B3. As RTU's connection to the roof framing and Mechanical Screen connection to the roof framing is an integral part of this building permit, please provide their structural analysis and design for review. - Item closed.
B4. Where is the detail for the lateral end bracing between end walls and the steel joists 28LH08, shown but not detailed on the roof framing plan. - Detail D11/S502 shown on drawing S130 is supposed to depict the lateral bracing/ bridging detail between the end wall and the roof joists parallel to the wall, what is shown in D11/S-502 is a detail for the roof joist perpendicular to the wall, not addressed, Item Open.
B5. Seems like a lap length schedule for masonry reinforcement is provided but lap length schedule for footing rebar could not be located. - -not addressed, Item Open.
