Sheet A701: The wall that separates this use with the adjacent tenant is required to be a fire wall. Section 503.1 states, "For the purposes of determining area limitations, height limitations and type of construction, each portion of a building separated by one or more fire walls complying with Section 706 shall be considered to be a separate building." Provide a properly rated rated wall in accordance with Section 503.1 and 706. Response: The fire separation provided does not meet the minimum fire rating required for mercantile occupancies. The fire separation provided does not meet the vertical and horizontal continuity requirements for a firewall. This separation is required to be a fire wall in accordance with 706. Provide a fire wall in accordance with all the requirements of Section 706. Please follow all the applicable requirements in Section 706.
