07/05/2022 | DAN SANTA CRUZ | ELECTRICAL-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Reqs Change | Please address the electrical plan review comments and provide a written response. 1. Per the response to the electrical plan review comments that was included in the resubmission, it was stated that, the scope of work did not include the Sign, and that ‘Signs Plus’ “is only installing the LD’s, an Electrical Company is providing power and permits”. I assume you meant LED’s. Ref; Plan Sheet 1 of 3. The plans resubmitted still has references to the ‘Sign’ and the NEC reference is incorrect. The current adopted NEC is the 2017 not the 2011. (b) The LED Stripe lighting is considered Unshielded Exterior lighting, not a Sign and therefore must comply with the Outdoor Lighting Code. (C) The lamp source color temperature cannot exceed 3500K per section 402.1. 2. Ref; Plan Sheet 2 of 3. (a) The Outdoor Lighting calculations must show ‘Lighting Area and Option used per Table 401.1. (b) The lumen calculations must include total lumens (Shielded and Unshielded for the entire Parcel and must be within the Lumen Caps shown in the Table 401.1. (C) the 2011 NEC reference and Color Temp of 4400K is also incorrect. 3. Ref; Plan Sheet 3 of 3. The Site Lighting Plan must include show location and identify all New and Existing luminaires on the property or Parcel and correlate with a luminaire schedule. Section 102, 104. 4. The Strip Lighting plan must show a complete installation including the Outdoor Lighting and Electrical NEC compliance. Revise the submittal documents to reflect this information as required per 2018 IBC section 107.2.1. It may be necessary to obtain the services of a Registered Electrical Engineer that has experience and knowledge pertaining to the installation of exterior lighting. Ref; 2018 IBC sec 107.2.1, 2017 NEC, 2018 IECC, City of Tucson Commercial Plan Submittal Requirements. 2012 Tucson/Pima County Outdoor Lighting Code (OLC). |
