06/30/2022 ROBERT SHERRY PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Reqs Change 1. A vent is required for the sump pump. The vent can be connected to other plumbing vents in the building once it is at least 6" above the flood rim of the highest fixture. [Initial comment: The vent and the discharge pipe are separate entities and may not be combined. Reference: Section 303.2, IPC 2018.]
2. Connect the 1-1/2" pumped discharge to the top of a horizontal drain (e.g. a 2" pipe at a 2% slope above the ceiling) using a wye fitting as described in Section 712.3.5, IPC 2018. The connection to the horizontal pipe should be made directly above the location of the sump pump. The horizontal pipe can then drop down to a building drain as shown in the riser diagram. The 1-1/2" vent connection to the 3" vent through the roof shown in the riser diagram should not be there. [Initial comment: Connect the effluent of the sump pump to the sanitary drain system as described in Section 712.3.5, IPC 2018 (i.e. not to a fixture drain as shown in detail 5/A6).]
