In the structural calculations, floor joist designated DJ5 is apparently designed for a 20 psf live load, since it is part of the corridor floor system please clarify why is it designed for roof live load and not the corridor live load of 100 psf. 2. Geotech report has not addressed footing drainage issue even though it talks in detail about constructing drainage methods for ensuring proper disposal of surface drainage. Foundations also seems to be also not designed for any hydrostatic pressure as a result of ground water pressure. Please have your geotech engineer address the foundation drainage issue whether it is required or not and whether it is a structural design consideration or not based on site specific evaluation? 3. A value of 0.35 is recommended by the geotech engineer for coefficient of friction value for the structural design purposes, seems like a higher value (0.5+) is used. Please verify/ explain how this higher value is consistent with the recommended design value. 4. Page 179 of the calculations shows a footing failing in uplift, how is this resolved? 5. Please address why wind uplift forces were not considered in the canopy connections design? BUILDING REVIEW COMMENTS: Denied 1. Sheet T1.0: The fire sprinkler notes indicate that the sprinkler system is in compliance with NFPA 13 and 45. NFPA 45 is for fire protection of laboratories. It's assumed this is typographical error.
