Provide additional documents as requested by review staff. STRUCTURAL REVIEW COMMENTS: Conditionally Approved Note: no structural changes were part of the proposed work. BUILDING REVIEW COMMENTS: Denied 1. Provide a detailed written scope of work for the project. Clarify any new drywall, insulation or other items not noted on the drawings. 2. Note on the drawings that all work will be done in accordance with the adopted codes and ordinances of the City of Tucson. 3. The note under the floor plan indicates to “see elevations” however no elevations were provided. It is unknow if the new windows meet egress requirements. 4. Provide manufactures specifications for the new windows that indicate compliance with the 2018 International Energy Conservation Code Table R402.1.2 Zone 2b. Windows are required to have a U factor of .40 or less and a SHGC of .25. 5. Note on the drawings that fire blocking will be installed in all walls and concealed spaces where newly built or existing areas in which the framing is exposed during construction. 2018 IRC R302.11. MECHANICAL REVIEW COMMENTS: Denied 1. Note on the drawings that all bath fans will be exhausted directly to the exterior. 2018 IRC M1505.2. 2. Clarify if the existing dwelling has a central cold air return or if an individual return is needed in the room. ELECTRICAL REVIEW COMMENTS Denied 1. Note on the drawing that the outlet box for the new ceiling fan will be listed and labeled as being a fan rated box capable of supporting 70lbs. 20107 NEC 314.27(C). 2. Provide a panel schedule for the house that indicates the location of the new circuits that are being added. A photo of the existing panel with the breakers clearly identified can also be used. 3. Note on the drawings that smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors will be installed in the existing dwelling, not just the new bedroom. The location of these detectors will be verified during inspection. 2018 IRC R314.2. 4. Note on the drawings that all smoke detectors shall be interconnected so that the actuation of one alarm will activate all. 2018 IRC R314.4. 5. Note on the drawings that the smoke alarm devices will receive their primary power from the building wiring with a battery backup. 2018 IRC R314.4.6. 6. Note that all new or replaced 15- and 20-amp outlets shall be tamper proof type. 2017 NEC 210.52. PLUMBING REVIEW COMMENTS: Denied 1. Clarify if the existing water service and water meter is of sufficient size to accept the new plumbing load. 2.
