COMMENT: Please clarify the proposed use of the meditation huts. After reviewing the Zoning letter T13SA00191 it is determined that these "structures were constructed to provide a quiet space for family and friend to use during daytime hours for personal meditation pratice, ". After viewing the comments for T21DV05401 that were left by the code enforcement inspector Morales "ON SITE WITH TENANTS. THE NORTH UNIT CEILING IS LEAKING IN THE KITCHEN AND THE SWAMP COOLER REGISTER/VENT IS LEAKING. THE STORAGE ROOM HAS NO WORKING OUTLETS. IN THE SOUTH UNIT THE BACK BEDROOM HAS WATER LEAK ABOVE THE WINDOW. BEDROOM CLOSET THERE IS A WATER LEAK ON THE FLOOR. PERMIT T14CM02394 EXPIRED ON 10/22/14 FOR THE 7 MEDITATION HUTS. THE HUTS HAVE ELECTRICAL WIRING AND PLUMBING. THERE IS A ELECTRICAL RUNNING FROM THE MAIN HOUSE TO THE 7 HUTS.". It is apparent from my investigation that these meditation huts are in actuality rental units. If this is the case then we would not allow this since in the R-1 multi-family is not an allowed use per UDC table 4.8-2 Urban Residential Zones. COMMENT: If these detached accessory structures are to continue to be meditation huts and not rental units the following must happen. The prior permit must be finalized or this permit must include all items that were in the previously approved permit. This must include but is not limited to commercial parking requirements and landscaping. COMMENT: Addition comments may be forthcoming.
