03/24/2022 | DAN SANTA CRUZ | ELECTRICAL-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Reqs Change | Please address the electrical plan review comments and provide a written response. After reviewing the 2nd submittal, the electrical plan reviewer noticed that the Site plan titled “For Reference Only” shows a New Electrical Service on the building where the electrical plan also shows it, but refers to it as “New Normal Distribution Board” not as a new service. Because the permit application and the Cover Plan Sheet describes the Electrical Scope of Work as “Service Upgrade”, it was reviewed as such. However, if it is not a “Service Upgrade” but a completely new Electrical Service, the NEC rules per art 230.2 does not allow additional Electrical Services on a single building without special permission in writing from the AHJ per NEC art 230.2A-thru-D. Forms to Appeal to the Chief Building Official for Special Permission for additional Electrical Services can be downloaded from www.tucsonaz.gov/pdsd. Also, the electrical plan does not show wiring for the New Exhaust fan shown in the mechanical plans installed at the Nitrogen Tank. If this is part of the scope of work, include it in the electrical plans. Ref; 2018 IBC sec 107.2.1, 2017 NEC, 2018 IECC, City of Tucson Commercial Plan Submittal Requirements. |
