Floor sinks and hand sinks in a kitchen are to discharge through a grease interceptor. Hand sinks (SK-1) in the kitchen are allowed to connect to the sanitary waste system instead of the grease waste system only if each sink has a sign posted above it stating, "HANDWASH SINK ONLY! NO FOOD PREPARATION OR DISHWASHING ALLOWED." Reference: Section 1003.3, IPC 2018, as amended by the City of Tucson. 3. Verify that the revised building drain from the kitchen area will drain through a grease interceptor and that the existing water closets are not draining through the grease interceptor. Reference: Sections 1003.2 and 1003.3.1, IPC 2018. 4. Coordinate the plumbing schematic with the plumbing floor plan. Reference: Section 107.2.1, IBC 2018. 5. Provide cleanouts for the new horizontal drain; the cleanouts shall be sized per Section 708.1.7, IPC 2018 and shall open to allow cleaning in the direction of flow. Reference: Sections 708.1.1 and 708.1.8, IPC 2018. |
