02/01/2021 | ZELIN CANCHOLA | DOT TRAFFIC | REVIEW | Reqs Change | DTM Traffic Engineering comments on the EB Tucson Marketplace Left Turn Lane Extensions at Kino Pkwy project: - Sheet 3: For Pavement Marking Note 1 and Signing Note 1, since the Signing and Pavement Marking manuals have now been combined, wherever referenced, we should probably refer to the new joint "PC/COT Signing & Pavement Marking Manual" (Typical). - Sheet 10, EB: The existing EB bike lane terminates as a cyclist approaches the intersection at Kino. Should we consider installing a shared lane marking around Sta 22+25 or so for bicyclists to use the thru/right lane? - Sheet 10, Left Turn Trap Lane: Per the design team meeting that occurred on 10/22/2020, utilizing the 273' available for the WG8 dash stripe distance instead of the standard 325' will be acceptable in this instance. - Sheet 10, Sta 20+11: Is the median width called out from face of curb to face of curb or back of curb to back of curb? With a 6' wide median, is there any concern that the 5' wide lane control sign to be placed in the median could be hit by the mirror of a heavy vehicle? Maybe Sign Note 1 could emphasize that sign needs to be centered perfectly within the median? Thank you, Greg Orsini, P.E. greg.orsini@tucsonaz.gov |

02/22/2021 | GARY WITTWER | DOT LANDSCAPE | REVIEW | Approved | DTM Landscape: DTM does not maintain the irrigation or landscape on Tucson Marketplace. I don't know who the contact is at the Bridges. The Bridges should have registered with Bluestake on this system. The irrigation in the median on T. Marketplace comes from the shoulder within the PAD. COT maintains irrigation and landscape on Kino. The Kino system and the Tucson Marketplace Blvd systems do not connect.
