Provide additional documents as requested by review staff. STRUCTURAL REVIEW COMMENTS: Approved BUILDING REVIEW COMMENTS: Approved MECHANICAL REVIEW COMMENTS: Denied 1. Note to what appliance these ducts are connecting to on the roof. (IMC2018,106.3.1) Response: Comply. Ducts through roof labeled with the equipment on sheet M2.0. Complied 2. The amount of make up air, shall be approximately the same as the exhaust air. (you are exhausting 5780 cfm’s and bringing in 4600 cfm’s through EC-1 which is interlocked to the exhaust fans 1 and 2) (IMC2018,508.1) Response: Comply. The total make up air provided is 5900 cfm (EC-1: 4600 cfm; AC-1: 400 cfm; AC-2: 400 cfm; AC-3: 500 cfm). Not Complied it shall be noted that the ac1,2 and 3 along with the EC unit (the make up air unit) shall be interlocked with the kitchen exhaust fan on the schedule for the AC units 3. Provide hood for dishwasher (IMC2018,507.5.5). Response: Comply. IMC2018, 507.5.5 Exception: Dishwashing appliances and equipment installed in accordance with Section 507.3. IMC2018 Section 507.3: “Type II hoods shall be installed above dishwashers and appliances that produce heat or moisture and do not produce grease or smoke as a result of the cooking process, except where the heat and moisture loads from such appliances are incorporated into the HVAC system design or into the design of a separate removal system.” The dishwasher is a Hobart AM15VL High Temperature Ventless Door-Style Dishewashing Machine. From the manufacturer: “Ventless models AM15VL, AM15VLF, AM15VLT, AM15SVL, and AM15SVLT do not require a vent hood. They use an internal condensing system to minimize the water vapor escaping from the unit during loading and unloading.”. The sensible load and latent load were included in the HVAC system design. Complied 4. The edge of the hood shall extend 6” past the edge of the appliance below (IMC2018,507.4.1). Response: Comply. The hood shown on the food services sheets is incorrect. It should show hoods H1 and H2 with a combined length of 16’-6” which extend 6” past the edge of the appliances. See updated food services sheets for appliance locations Not Complied your sheet FS 6 is all jumbled up, and hard to see clearly what you have, your dimensions are not clearly showing the length of the hood on that sheet please make clear 5. Explain what this hood is for, it is not on the mechanical plans, and you got 2 island hoods that are 8’3” each, side by side on M4.2. This hood is 15’11” long it is different than the hoods on sheet M4.2 (IMC2018,106.3.1)Response: Comply. The food service drawings did not have the latest hood drawings. The food service sheets will be updated with the correct hood drawings. Not Complied will need the revised plans with the manufacturers specs and the cooking appliances it serves you have not provided any of this information for this hood need the revised plans. Flow Control devices shall be designed and installed so that the total flow through such devices shall at no time be greater than the rated flow. Exception: If a dishwasher or food waste disposal unit is used in the facility, an HGI (hydromechanical)cannot be used and an appropriately sized GGI (Gravity Grease Interceptor) or alternative pretreatment device, capable of accepting these wastes, must be installed. 3).
