| 10/14/2021 | DAN SANTA CRUZ | ELECTRICAL-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Reqs Change | Please address the electrical review comments and provide a written response. Per the last electrical review comment concerning the Water Heater power requirements. The Water Heater Specs shown on plan sheet P-3 calls out a 50 gal unit with a power rating of 4.5KW, 21.6 amps at 208 volts. Per NEC art 422.10, 422.13 this is to be considered a continuous load, therefore requiring (125% x 21.6 = 27 amps) a 30 amp OCPD. The branch circuit conductors only need to be sized per NEC 310.15 for 30 amps at the 75C column = #10 AWG. In your response letter you stated #1 AWG sized conductors, which is ok ,but not required to be so large. Also adjust the VA shown in the panel schedule and load calculations to correlate with the actual rating of the Water Heater. NEC 220, 422. Ref; 2018 IBC 107.2.1, 2017 NEC. |
