02/22/2022 ROBERT SHERRY MECHANICAL-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Reqs Change The new product specifications show that the cooling duct has a diameter of 101.6 mm (4") but the hot exhaust duct has a minimum diameter of 143 mm (5.6"). Also, verify the maximum flow rates with the manufacturer (e.g. the cooling flow rate is given as only 259 l/h or 0.15 CFM). [Initial comment: Provide design for the hot stack and the cooling stack (these are not supplied with the roaster). Include the material standards, support details, penetration requirements (e.g. a listed, ventilated thimble for the penetration of the wall by the hot stack), and the termination of the stacks to prevent rain from entering the vent system. Reference: Section 107.2.1, IBC 2018.]
02/22/2022 ROBERT SHERRY PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Reqs Change The new equipment requires a minimum gas pressure of 21 mbar (8.43"H2O) at the burner inlet and a maximum gas pressure of 60 mbar (24" H2O) at a gas input of 122,837 BTUH. Southwest Gas, the local gas utility, provides natural gas at 7" WG, 2 PSIG, and 5 PSIG. Appliances needing gas service at 7" WG or greater at the equipment will require a gas meter that delivers at least 2 PSIG gas into a regulator located after the meter set. The ¾" pipe will still be adequate. Again, the energy content of the gas is approximately 1,000 BTU per cubic foot, not 1100 BTU per cubic foot. Reference: Section 402.1, IFGC 2018 [Initial comment: Southwest Gas, the local gas utility provides natural gas with an energy content of approximately 1,000 BTU per cubic foot. A ¾" carbon steel pipe is the minimum size for this application. Reference: Section 402.1, IFGC 2018.]
