01/20/2022 | ROBERT SHERRY | PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Reqs Change | 1. Southwest Gas, the local gas utility provides natural gas with an energy content of approximately 1,000 BTU per cubic foot. A ¾" carbon steel pipe is the minimum size for this application. Reference: Section 402.1, IFGC 2018. 2. The roaster requires a water connection (1 GPM at 50 PSI minimum). Show the water connection and specify the required backflow preventer. Reference: Sections 303.2, 608.1, and 608.3, IPC 2018. |
01/20/2022 | ROBERT SHERRY | MECHANICAL-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Reqs Change | 1. The installation instructions call for peak exhaust flow rates of 310 dSCFM for the hot stack and 980 SCFM for the cooling exhaust (see Table 1, Loring Pre-Installation and Site Preparation Guide, Page 9). At this elevation, that will be about 1411 CFM of exhaust. Assuming a total of 150 CFM exhaust for the three restrooms, the total exhaust for the suite will be 1561 CFM while the total supply of outside air from the three AC units is only 750 CFM. Additional make up air will be required. Reference: Sections 304.1 and 501.4, IMC 2018. 2. Relocate the exhaust termination to a point 10-feet above grade. Reference: Section 501.3.1 (2), IMC 2018. 3. The hot stack operates at a continuous temperature of 1400 degrees Fahrenheit with a maximum intermittent temperature of 1500 degrees Fahrenheit. Show how the maximum exposed surface temperature of the duct will be kept from exceeding 120 F. Reference: Section 604.2, IMC 2018. 4. Provide design for the hot stack and the cooling stack (these are not supplied with the roaster). Include the material standards, support details, penetration requirements (e.g. a listed, ventilated thimble for the penetration of the wall by the hot stack), and the termination of the stacks to prevent rain from entering the vent system. Reference: Section 107.2.1, IBC 2018. 5. The roaster requires compressed air (4 CFM at 60 PSI minimum). Show the compressed air supply and specify the air compressor. Reference: Sections 304.1, IPC 2018. |
