08/31/2021 ERIC NEWCOMB BUILDING-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Reqs Change 1. General: Is there an existing Certificate of Occupancy for this space? If a previous tenant had a C of O and the Occupancy Classification (Business for beauty shop or office space) is not changing, you may use that C of O for your business. Check with our Records Department at 520-837-4899 or Records@tucsonaz.gov.
2. General: If no previous C of O is located, or if the beauty salon is a change of use from the previous tenant, you must retain the services of a registered architect to produce documents and submit those documents to the City of Tucson Planning and Development Services Department. Documents required are a site plan, a building plan, and a code analysis (Occupancy Classification, SF, Occupant Load, Construction Type, applicable Building Code, etc.).
