08/03/2021 ROBERT SHERRY PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Reqs Change 1. Verify that the pipe sizes called out for the flush valves will not result in water velocities greater than that recommended by the pipe manufacturer (e.g. limit the water velocity to less than 8 FPS for copper piping). At a minimum design flow rate of 25 GPM for a siphonic, flush-valve water closet, a 1” Type L copper pipe has a flow velocity of 9.7 FPS and a ¾” Type L copper pipe has a flow velocity of 16.6 FPS. Reference: Table 604.3, IPC 2018.
2. Revise the hot water supply to the new lavatory, P-1, so that the distance from the hot water source to the hot water termination for P-1 complies with the requirements of Section C404.5, IECC 2018 (i.e. 24-inches for ½-inch pipe).
3. Fixtures other than floor drains, sinks, lavatories, and drinking fountains, are not permitted to be included in a combination waste and vent system. Reference: Section 915.1, IPC 2018.
4. Coordinate the waste and water isometric (4/P-101) with the plumbing floor plan (2/P-101). The isometric shows P-3 with an individual vent.
