| 06/22/2021 | KKARSEN1 | OIP | REVIEW | Reqs Change | T21CM04216 PLAN REVIEW COMMENTS Plan review for the above referenced structure is completed. In order to facilitate a shorter back check time, we request that you please provide revised plans and calculations, highlighting any changes, along with a written response to each of the noted items indicating action taken. SCOPE OF REVIEW: The scope of this plan review covers architectural, plumbing, mechanical, energy conservation and electrical. All code references are to the 2018 International Residential Code, 2018 International Fire Code, 2017 National Electrical Code and Arizona Revised Statutes. All features were checked to the extent allowed by the submittals provided. All portions of this project are assumed to meet or will meet other departmental requirements, conditions and concerns before permit approval. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS: Make all corrections and revisions on original tracings or a finished reproducible set. All engineers and architects involved in the design of the structure are to seal the related sheets of plans, details and calculations in accordance with the rules of the State Board of Technical Registration. GENERAL NOTES: • Limit all code references to those recognized by the City of Tucson. The 2017 NEC is listed at the Planning & Development Services web site. • Provide a complete 3-line diagram of the extended service conductors from the utility meter base to the splice location and back to the main breaker. Clarify the connection points within existing service equipment. Show the conductor rating and service panel rating. • Provide an Arizona Registered Electrical Engineer’s design and sealed plans for verifying the application and sizing of non-prescriptive structural elements of the ground mounted system, R301.1.3 and E3401. DIAGRAMS / CALCULATIONS 1. Show correct Overcurrent Protection Breaker sizes for the connected devices/ratings. Consider using the Pima County PV calculator for determining appropriate sizes at: http://www.pimaxpress.com Under the Building Permitting tab select Forms & Calculators for the Standard or Micro Inverter PV tool. 2. Provide an appropriate Maximum Photovoltaic System Voltage (Voc x 1.14) NEC 690.7 and Table 690.7 (16 degrees F lowest ambient). Show a collector panel design with a corrected voltage maximum not exceeding 600 volts. Show an inverter with appropriate specifications for this calculation. 3. AC Overcurrent Protective Device and Conductor Sizing for Photovoltaic Source Circuits and Module Interconnection Conductors (Imax x 1.25) Reference NEC 690.8 (A) (3) and (B) (1). Show a complete calculation for determining conductor requirements. 4. Show the sum of the main and backfeed breakers not exceeding 120% of the busbar rating, NEC 690.64 & 705.12 (D). Main breaker replacement may not negatively affect the equipment integrity or listing, NEC 110.3. Provide an electrical load calculation if reducing the main breaker rating. 5. Show the continuous AC grounding electrode conductor size complying with Table 250.66 and not smaller than #8 (copper), NEC 690.47(A). Show this conductor size between the inverter grounding terminal at the combiner panel and the service ground terminal at the service panel. 6. Specify and show a continuous Grounding Electrode Conductor. Reference NEC 250.64 (C), 250.160. 7. Provide a cross-sectional area calculation showing 40 percent fill compliance, NEC 358.22. The PV conductors may overfill a ¾” conduit capacity. 8. Place the backfeed breaker at the furthest position away from the main breaker, NEC 705.12(B)(2)(3)(b). NOTES / SPECIFICATIONS 1. Provide the exact wording and location for the “Photovoltaic System Disconnect” marking required by NEC 690.13 (B). 2. Provide the exact wording and location for the “Warning PV Power Source” required by NEC 690.31(G). 3. Provide the exact wording and location for the Power Source “Imp, Vmp, Vmax, Isc, Wmax” marking required by NEC 690.51. 4. Provide the exact wording and location for the “Rapid Shutdown Switch“ marking required by NEC 690.56(C) 5. Provide the exact wording and locations for any plaques which may be required for non co-located disconnects. 6. Show all equipment with listings by an Independent Testing Agency, NEC 690.4(D). 7. Show the back feed breaker at the opposite end on the panelboard from the main feeder location and label “Do Not Relocate”, NEC 705.12 (B)(2)(3).
