Please show the two way communication for the elevator on the exterior and the communication system for the interior of the elevator per the 2018 IBC.

ben renewed.

1. The exit in the center of the building does provide protection all the way to the exit discharge. Once exiting the protected stair well and rated enclosure, the occupant is in an unprotected foyer area. Once entering the exit the level of safety cannot be decreased.
2. The second accessible exit is not shown. If it is through the enclosure and foyer the same issue applies as above. Additional exit lighting may be required.
3. Provide calculations showing the amount of ADA units is appropriate in compliance with Section 1107.6.2.2.1 and 1107.6.2.2.2. Which unit is Type A?
4. Show the accessible route from site arrival to the accessible units.

Met with applicant and Design Professional on 7/8/21 to discuss proposal, Applicant informed property owner found a tenant that wants to take over the entire ground floor for retail and restaurant uses.
Requested applicant that, when revised CDs are resubmitted, to clearly indicate in a letter and on the drawings if any exterior modifications to the structures (on any floor, not just on the ground floor) will need to be reviewed by the Historic Preservation Officer and the Design Professional. At that point it will be decided if the proposed changes will incur into a major a minor IID/HPZ review process.
