Sheets S2.0 and S2.1: A boxed note indicates the Rammed Aggregate Piers (RAP) submittal shall be a deferred submittal. That deferred submittal must be reviewed and approved by the registered design professional in responsible charge, along with the City of Tucson review and approval per the IBC Section 107.3.4.1. 4. Geotechnical Report; Page 11 (Deep Foundations): This report indicates the parking structure should be supported by drilled shaft foundations. The Foundation Plans (Sheets S2.0 and S2.1) indicate shallow spread footings in many areas. Are the shallow foundations being used because of the note on Sheets S2.0 and S2.1 that the spread footings shall bear on Rammed Aggregate Piers? No mention was made in the Geotechnical Report for this foundation type. Please verify. 5. Geotechnical Report; Page 14: This report indicates the allowable axial load capacity for drilled shaft foundations may require a reduction due to the shaft spacing. This appears it is applicable at the shear wall foundations. Please verify this reduction in shaft capacity was applied as required. 6. Structural Calculations; Page 3: The drilled shaft capacity is indicated as 250 kips for (1) 3'-0" diameter x 50'-0" shaft. The next line in the calculations indicates the actual depth of the shaft is 36'. Sheet 13 of the Geotechnical Report indicates the allowable axial load increases from 36' to 50'. Please verify the allowable axial capacity of the 3'-0" diameter shafts is correct as used. 7. General: Sheet A03: The Building Code Analysis indicates the Construction Type IA is due to future construction above the garage. Do structural calculations include loads from future construction above this garage? Please verify. 8. General: Please provide a Special Inspections Certificate with Parts A and B completed. 9.
