| 08/05/2021 | ROBERT SHERRY | PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Reqs Change | 1. The calculated water demand is incorrect. Continuous supply appliances cannot be represented by fixture units. [Third comment: Correct the water demand calculations using Appendix E, IPC 2018. You have apparently used Table 604.3, IPC 2018 (there is no Table 604.2 in the 2018 IPC) which is not for the estimation of water demand. Use Table E103.3(2) to calculate the supply fixture units for the plumbing fixtures and the flushometer section of Table E103.3(3) to estimate the water demand. Hose bibbs, emergency eyewashes, and evaporative coolers have continuous supply demands and do not have fixture unit values (Section E102.2, IPC 2018). Due to the significant continuous supply demands, Table E201.1, IPC 2018 cannot be used; see Section E103, IPC 2018 for instructions. [Second comment: Comment not addressed.] [Initial comment: Provide calculations showing how the water supply piping has been sized. Reference: Sections 604.1 and 604.3, IPC 2018.] 2. The restroom fixtures shown on the plumbing floor plan, P1, do not reflect the restroom fixtures shown on the current architectural floor plan, A1. Coordinate with the architect. |
| 08/05/2021 | ROBERT SHERRY | WATER | REVIEW | Reqs Change | The water demand appears to be in excess of 50 GPM, a 1-1/2-inch water meter is required. [Third comment: Tucson Water limits ¾-inch water meters to maximum demand of 30-GPM. Correct the water demand calculations or provide 2-inch water meter.] [Second comment: Comment not addressed.] [Initial comment: Verify the calculated water demand (216.1 GPM, sheet P1). Reference: Section 107.2.1, IBC 2018.] |
