07/13/2021 ROBERT SHERRY MECHANICAL-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Reqs Change 1. Comment not addressed; Provide the COMcheck Envelope Compliance Certificate. [Second comment: Comment not addressed; only the COMcheck mechanical compliance report was submitted.] [Initial comment: Demonstrate energy code compliance for the building envelope using calculations based on the current code. Reference: Sections C101.5, C103.2, C303, and C401.2, International Energy Conservation Code 2018.]
2. Keynote #5, sheet M1 still calls for the exhaust fan to be controlled with the lights. When the lights are off, 100% of the 240 CFM being supplied to the restrooms will return to the building. [Second comment: EF-1 shall provide the required exhaust airflow rate during the hours of operation even when the lights are off.] [Initial comment: Provide information on the sequence of operation for the restroom exhaust fan, EF-1, to show that all of the air supplied to the restrooms will be exhausted. The exhausted air from the restrooms shall be limited to no more than 10% of any subsequent supply air stream. Reference: Section 403.2.1 (4), IMC 2018.]
07/13/2021 ROBERT SHERRY WATER REVIEW Reqs Change Tucson Water limits ¾-inch water meters to maximum demand of 30-GPM. Correct the water demand calculations or provide 2-inch water meter. [Second comment: Comment not addressed.] [Initial comment: Verify the calculated water demand (216.1 GPM, sheet P1). Reference: Section 107.2.1, IBC 2018.]
07/14/2021 ROBERT SHERRY PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Reqs Change 1. Correct the water demand calculations using Appendix E, IPC 2018. You have apparently used Table 604.3, IPC 2018 (there is no Table 604.2 in the 2018 IPC) which is not for the estimation of water demand. Use Table E103.3(2) to calculate the supply fixture units for the plumbing fixtures and the flushometer section of Table E103.3(3) to estimate the water demand. Hose bibbs, emergency eyewashes, and evaporative coolers have continuous supply demands and do not have fixture unit values (Section E102.2, IPC 2018). Due to the significant continuous supply demands, Table E201.1, IPC 2018 cannot be used; see Section E103, IPC 2018 for instructions. [Second comment: Comment not addressed.] [Initial comment: Provide calculations showing how the water supply piping has been sized. Reference: Sections 604.1 and 604.3, IPC 2018.]
2. The natural gas pipes are significantly undersized. See Section 402.3, IFGC 2018 for pipe sizing instructions; use Table 402.4(2), IFGC 2018 to determine the pipe sizes. [Second comment: The 2 PSIG gas piping will require regulators at each appliance. Show the sediment traps. Reference: Section 408.4, IFGC 2018.] [Initial comment: Southwest Gas, the local gas utility, provides natural gas at 7” WG, 2 PSIG, and 5 PSIG. Appliances needing gas service at 7” WG or greater will require a gas meter that delivers at least 2 PSIG gas into a regulator located after the meter set. Reference: Section 402.1, IFGC 2018.]
