Requirements for placement of Private Irrigation Facilities Roadway Crossings within the Public Rights-of-Way

1. Private irrigation facilities roadway crossings will only be permitted in residential roadways and NOT permitted in arterial or collector roadways.
2. Lateral lines under constant pressure shall not be permitted in the public rights-of-way.
3. The HOA will register private irrigation facilities placed in the public rights-of-way with Arizona 811and become an Arizona 811 Blue Stake Inc. member.
4. Minimize the number of roadway crossings.
5. Sleeves must be in a recorded easement (easement width is dependent on what is needed for installation and/or repairs). To the extent possible, the easements should be created at the time of development/platting.
6. Irrigation lines shall be placed in ductile iron sleeves.
7. Sleeve should extend beyond the right-of-way (into private property), unless otherwise approved by TDOT.
8. HDPE continuous line (no joints under the pavement)
9. Irrigation lines shall have a minimum of thirty (30) inches of cover.
10. Detectable marking tape shall be installed.

SUBJECT: La Estancia Phase II, Parcel 1 Paving Plans

PROJECT REVIEWER: Richard Leigh, DTM Eng. Review

RESUBMITTAL REQUIRED: TDOT Permit Review Section has reviewed the subject PIA paving plan and does not recommend approval at this time. The following comments need to be addressed and plans revised prior to resubmittal. Please include a response letter addressing the following comments.


1. Add the plan number "I-2020-028" in the title block of each sheet.

2. Add PIA activity number "T20PI00027" on coversheet.

3. Sheet 2: Paving Note 5 to indicate that the asphaltic concrete shall conform to PAG's Replacement Specification for Section 406 Asphaltic Concrete, dated December 12, 2019.

4. Sheet 2 through 16: Use current DTM title blocks. See Engineering Plan Template at: https://www.tucsonaz.gov/files/transportation/Engineering_Plan_Templates_Dec_2019.pdf

5. Sheets 3: Revise scupper detail to indicate placement of barricade railing along the back of the scupper.

6. Sheets 4: Provide a curb access ramp at the intersection of Via Casa De Campo and Paseo De Villalobos. Refer to COT TSM Section 10-01.3.3.E.

7. Sheets 7: Curb access ramps will have to be provided at the intersection of Paseo Del Cacapo Via Casa De Campo and Paseo Del Cachapo and Via Perfecta. Refer to COT TSM Section 10-01.3.3.E.

8. Sheet 7: Indicate placement of a driveway apron based on PAG S.D. 20 at the PC RRWRD Maintenance access road adjacent to lot 125 and indicate the placement of removable post barricades will be a minimum of one foot behind the sidewalk.

9. Sheet 11 & 13: An easement from the City will have to be obtained for the private irrigation lines crossing Via Perfecta and Via Casa De Campo. Additionally, the lines will have to comply with the following DTM guidelines.

- Private irrigation facilities roadway crossings will only be permitted in residential roadways and NOT permitted in arterial or collector roadways.

Include manufactures product numbers, metal gauge and coating, vane type and height, end sections, coupling banding other fittings. Also, provide complete installation details. The City of Tucson requires CMP to be encased in concrete.
