RESUBMITTAL REQUIRED: TDOT Permit Review Section has reviewed the subject PIA paving plan and does not recommend approval at this time. The following comments need to be addressed and plans revised prior to resubmittal. Please include a response letter addressing the following comments.

1. Add the plan number "I-2020-019" in the title block of each sheet.

2. Add PIA activity number "T20PI00019" on coversheet.

3. Sheet 1: Revise Paving & Grading Note 3 to indicate that the asphaltic concrete shall conform to PAG's Replacement Specification for Section 406 Asphaltic Concrete, dated December 12, 2019.

4. Sheet 1 through 4: Use current DTM title blocks. See Engineering Plan Template at: https://www.tucsonaz.gov/files/transportation/Engineering_Plan_Templates_Dec_2019.pdf

5. Submit an approved Development plan with next submittal.

6. Include all improvements within the public right-of-way associated with this development on this plan set. Provide complete construction details.

7. Provide a roadway profile of the proposed right turn lane. Include existing grade, label all grade brakes with stationing and grades and indicate running slopes.

8. Revise pavement structural section to match existing pavement section, see as-built plan I-87-073

9. Revise drawing to indicate placement of 6' wide sidewalk pursuant to Technical Standards Manual Section 10-01.4.1.

The final longitudinal striping shall be 90 mil (0.090") thick thermoplastic reflectorized striping placed over the temporary striping within 21 to 30 calendar days after completion of the final pavement surface, or as directed by the traffic engineer. All other markings shall be applied at the same time. Temporary striping shall be paint.
4. Sheet 2, PM Note 11: Revise note to read as follows:
All final transverse markings shall be 90 mil thermoplastic striping (0.090"). All pavement arrows and legends shall be 90 mil thermoplastic pavement marking (0.090"). Extruded thermoplastic or preformed applications may be used if approved by the traffic engineer.

8. All warning sign panels shall be fluorescent yellow Diamond-Grade (Type XI or equivalent) sheeting. All School zone signs shall be fluorescent yellow-green Diamond-Grade (Type XI or equivalent) sheeting. All street name signs and overhead mounted panels shall be ASTM Type XI sheeting. All other sign panels shall have High Intensity Prismatic Type IV sheeting.
9. Sheet 3: We note that the 50' right turn lane taper was approved by Traffic Engineering after the team's coordination meeting on 8/25/20 in order to avoid conflict with existing utility appurtenances.
10. Sheet 4, Quantity Table: Remove references to "sprayed thermo (0.060")" per above comments on striping thickness.
11. Sheet 4, Right Turn Lane: Install 2 Right Turn Arrows per PC/COT Pvmt Mrkng Std 4-12 (Case 1). One will be at Sta 4+28. The other will be near Sta 5+00.
12. Sheet 4, Right Turn Lane: Install associated Right Turn signage. Corresponding to the locations of the Right Turn Arrows, install an R3-5f RIGHT LANE plaque on top of an R3-5R Right Turn Symbol ONLY sign at those 2 spots.
