SUBJECT: Offsite Improvement Plans for Corbett Block 2nd Review

PROJECT REVIEWER: Richard Leigh, DTM Eng. Review

RESUBMITTAL REQUIRED: TDOT Permit Review Section has reviewed the subject PIA paving plan and does not recommend approval at this time. The following comments need to be addressed and plans revised prior to resubmittal. Please include a response letter addressing the following comments.

1. Sheet 1: Add the following Paving and Grading Note:

This project is located in an Archaeological Sensitivity Zone. An Archaeological Monitor hired by the permit applicant is required to be on-site during any digging, unless a waiver is issued. Monitoring reports are to be submitted to Historic Preservation Office, City of Tucson, P.O. Box 27210, Tucson, AZ 85726.** Please contact Jodie Brown at Jodie.Brown@tucsonaz.gov with any questions.

2. Sheet 2: Verify catch basin type called out for the proposed catch basin on 7th Ave. A Type 308 catch basin is depicted on while the keynote calls for a Type 309.

3. Sheet 2: Clearly show where the proposed sidewalk scupper at +/- Sta 11+00 RT, 7th Ave will outlet. Additionally, cleanouts should be considered at the angle points in the scupper.
4. Sheet 2 & 3: Provide details on how the abandoned storm drain connections into the RCBC will be repaired.

5. Sheet 2& 3: Provide a profile of the proposed catch basin storm drain connections. Indicate inverts, pipe lengths and pipe slope.

6. Sheet 2: Proposed curb access ramps located at the northwest corner of 6th Ave and 7th St: Railing is not required on curb access ramps. Placing the landing at the bottom of ramp and providing a ramp at 1:12 should be considered.

7. Sheet 2: Revise keynotes 45 and 47 as noted on redlines.

8. Sheet 2, Keynote 22: Indicate that the proposed pavers will be install per PAG Sd 201 or provide complete details in paving plans.

9. Sheet 3, Keynote 24: Provide a dimensioned detail of the proposed modified Type 309 catch basin and slotted drain system and grate model number. Provide stationing of the catch basin, slotted drain specifications, installation requirements and indicate that the slotted drainpipe sections will be encased in concrete.

10. Sheet 3 & 4: Indicate placement of Survey Monuments per PAG SD 103 along the center line at roadway intersections and at the points of curvature along roadway center line.
11. Sheet 3: Verify that the roundabout on 5th St is designed to accommodate bus traffic.

12. Sheet 4: Indicate the final surface treatment for the roundabout, channelizing islands and buffer areas between the sidewalk and curb.

11- Sheet 10, 6th Ave entrance near Corbett Sta 41+13: consider placing green "ladder" crossing markings for bike crossing to draw motorists' attention to the fact that bicycles may be crossing here at path/6th Ave interface. See PDF for example on green stripes and spacing (24" wide green stripes).
