12/17/2020 | ROBERT SHERRY | MECHANICAL-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Reqs Change | 1. Demonstrate energy code compliance for the building envelope using calculations based on the current code. Reference: Sections C101.5, C103.2, C303, and C401.2, International Energy Conservation Code 2018. 2. Show how one of the "Additional Efficiency Package Options" (C406, IECC 2018) is to be accomplished. Reference: Section C401.2, IECC 2018. 3. Revise the width of the roof access ladder to provide not less than 18" between the rails. Reference: Section 306.5, IMC 2018. 4. The City of Tucson has adopted the 2018 IMC as the approved method for calculating ventilation requirements. The outside air and make-up airflow rates significantly exceed the exhaust airflow rates. Correct the arithmetic in the Air Balance Schedule and show how over-pressurization of the building will be avoided. Reference: Section 501.4, IMC 2018. |
12/17/2020 | ROBERT SHERRY | PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Reqs Change | 1. Provide the civil plans noted on sheet MEP 100 showing the installation of the water service to the building and the installation of the building sewer. An approved development plan is not to be used for construction of on-site utilities (e.g. water service to the building, building sewer, etc.). Reference: Sections 104.2 and 107.2.1, IBC 2018. 2. Coordinate the water heater schedules, gas inputs, and tag names. On sheet P002 the water heaters are called out as GWH-1 and TWH-1, 199 CFH and 150 MBH. Reference: Section 107.2.1, IBC 2018. 3. Coordinate the gas piping calculations. On sheet P002 the total gas demand is 1667 MBH with a developed length of 163-feet but on sheet P300 the total gas demand is 1712 MBH with a developed length of 147-feet. Verify the pipe sizes once the gas demand and developed pipe length is settled. Reference: Section 107.2.1, IBC 2018. 4. The trench drains for the smokers are shown as having a polyethylene barrier and the recessed pit drain is shown with a chlorinated polyethylene membrane to provide an impervious basin. Show how the 500-gallon grease holding tank will be constructed to be impervious. Reference: Section 107.2.1, IBC 2018. 5. Revise the configuration of the natural gas sediment trap, as shown in the gas connection detail on sheet P400, to comply with the requirements of Section 408.4, IFGC 2018. 6. Coordinate both the waste riser diagram and the water riser diagram with the plumbing floor plan in the kitchen and the restrooms. Reference: Section 107.2.1, IBC 2018. 7. Provide tempered water for the restroom lavatories using approved devices conforming to ASSE 1070. Reference: Sections 419.5 and 607.1.2, IPC 2018 9. Provide metering faucets for the lavatories, dispensing a maximum of 0.25 gallons per metering cycle. Verify that the faucet cycle will last for at least 10-seconds. Reference: Section 419.6, IPC 2018, as amended by the City of Tucson and Section 606.4, ICC/ANSI A117.1-09. 10. At a minimum, coffee machines and non-carbonated beverage dispensers require the use of a backflow preventer listed to either ASSE 1022, ASSE 1024, or an air gap. The specified backflow prevention assembly, Watts 007-QT-S is listed to ASSE 1015. Reference: Section 608.17.1.2, IPC 2018 12. Interior waste piping upstream of the grease interceptor shall have a minimum slope of ¼" per foot (2% slope). Reference: Section 704.1, IPC 2018. 13. Provide separate indirect waste pipes for each food-handling fixture (e.g. S-2, a 3-compartment sink - curiously shown as a 4-compartment sink) to protect against cross-contamination or fouling. Reference: Section 801.2, IPC 2018. 14. The trench drain located in the service yard appears to be part of a combination waste and vent system. Verify that no food waste disposers will be discharging through the combination waste and vent system. Reference: Section 915.1, IPC 2018. 15. Provide a vent downstream of the gravity grease separator to protect the seal for the grease separator. Reference: Section 1003.9, IPC 2018. 16.
