12/14/2020 PIMA COUNTY PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Reqs Change The maximum distance between a lavatory in a public restroom and the hot water source (i.e. the recirculating hot water loop) is 24" for a ½" pipe. Reference: Section C404.5, IECC 2018. [Initial comment: The maximum developed length of the hot water supply piping appears to be greater than fifty feet; provide a method for maintaining the temperature of the hot water supply system. Reference: Section 607.2, IPC 2018 and C404.5, IECC 2018.]
12/14/2020 PIMA COUNTY MECHANICAL-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Reqs Change 1. The walk-in cooler and freezer manufacturer's letter does not address the mandatory performance standards identified in Section C403.10.2.1, IECC 2018 which went into effect on January 1, 2020. Contact the manufacturer to resolve this issue. [Initial comment: Show that the walk-in cooler and freezer meets the efficiency requirements of Section C403.10.2.1, IECC 2018.]
2. Controlling the restroom exhaust fan with an occupancy sensor in the restroom will result in the fan not running while the supply air is still being introduced into the restroom. The exhaust fan shall be running whenever HVAC air is being supplied to the restroom (e.g. during hours of business operation with a time clock). [Initial comment: Provide information on the sequence of operation for the restroom exhaust fan to show that all of the air supplied to the restroom will be exhausted. Reference: Section 403.2.1 (4), IMC 2018.]
