09/02/2020 ROBERT SHERRY MECHANICAL-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Reqs Change 1. Demonstrate energy code compliance for the alterations to the building envelope using calculations based on the current code (e.g. COMcheck). Reference: Sections C103.2, C303, C503.1, and C503.3, International Energy Conservation Code 2018.
2. . Provide heating and cooling load calculations to justify the heating/cooling capacities of the specified HVAC units. Reference: Section C403.1.1 and C403.3.1, IECC 2018.
3. Show that the walk-in cooler and freezer meets the construction requirements of Section C403.10.2, IECC 2018.
4. Show that the walk-in cooler and freezer meets the efficiency requirements of Section C403.10.2.1, IECC 2018.
5. Provide information on the sequence of operation for the restroom exhaust fan to show that all of the air supplied to the restroom will be exhausted. Reference: Section 403.2.1 (4), IMC 2018.
6. Show the slope of the horizontal grease duct (for EF-2). Show the sizes and locations of the cleanouts for the horizontal grease duct. Reference: Sections 506.3.7, 506.3.8 and 506.3.9, IMC 2018.
7. Show that the installation of the hoods complies with Section 507.2.6, IMC 2018 with regard to a smooth, cleanable, non-absorbent, and non-combustible material installed between the hoods and the walls, extending 18" beyond each hood.
09/02/2020 ROBERT SHERRY PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Reqs Change 1. The maximum developed length of the hot water supply piping appears to be greater than fifty feet; provide a method for maintaining the temperature of the hot water supply system. Reference: Section 607.2, IPC 2018 and C404.5, IECC 2018.
2. Provide separate indirect waste pipes for each compartment of the 3-compartment sink to protect against cross-contamination or fouling. Reference: Sections 801.2 and 802.1.1, IPC 2018.
3. Floor sinks and floor drains in the kitchen as well as a janitor's sink must discharge through a grease interceptor. Reference: Section 1003.3, IPC 2018, as amended by the City of Tucson.
4. Hand sinks in the kitchen are allowed to connect to the sanitary waste system instead of the grease waste system only if each sink has a sign posted above it stating, "HANDWASH SINK ONLY! NO FOOD PREPARATION OR DISHWASHING ALLOWED." Reference: Section 1003.3, IPC 2018, as amended by the City of Tucson.
5. A dishwasher may not discharge through a hydromechanical grease interceptor but it is required to discharge through a gravity grease interceptor. Reference: Section 1003.3, IPC 2018, as amended by the City of Tucson.
6. Verify the installation requirements of the specified fryers. The manufacturer's specification sheet shows the Pitco model PH-SFSSH60W has an input of 100 MBH and a natural gas system pressure requirement of 7 - 10" water column. Southwest Gas, the local gas utility, provides natural gas at 7" WG, 2 PSIG, and 5 PSIG. Appliances needing gas service at 7" WG or greater will require a gas meter that delivers at least 2 PSIG gas into a regulator located after the meter set. Reference: Section 402.1, IFGC 2018.
7. Revise the size of the gas main from the meter to the building. A load of 1034 CFH with a developed length of 150 feet requires a 2.5" carbon steel pipe. Reference: Table 402.4 (2), IFGC 2018.
8. Revise the location of the appliance shut off valves for the water heater and fryers as shown in the gas isometric to be upstream of the sediment traps, as close to the equipment as possible. Reference: Section 408.4, IFGC 2018.
9. Provide an automatic fuel shutoff valve interlocked with the fire suppression system for each hood. Reference: Section 904.3.3, IFC 2018.

10/13/2020 PIMA COUNTY BUILDING-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Reqs Change 1. Please respond to review comments in writing.
2. According to the demolition plan on sheet D1.0, this tenant space is to be created by sub dividing a larger lease area. Provide proof that the resulting two lease areas have been assigned their own addresses by Pima County Addressing and revise these documents to show the new suite address, if applicable. Contact addressing@pima.gov.
3. Because the lease area to the east will be modified to create this tenant space, a tenant improvement permit must also be obtained for that address. Drawings submitted for approval must show that the resultant space complies with the 2018 IBC for egress, restroom facilities, etc. Or, if the resultant space is currently unoccupied, place a boxed note on all floor plans in that area saying THIS LEASABLE SPACE IS VACANT. A TENANT IMPROVEMENT PERMIT WILL BE REQUIRED PRIOR TO OCCUPANCY.
4. Submit structural calculations sealed by the engineer of record to show that the existing roof structure is adequate to support the new rooftop mechanical equipment and kitchen hood. Ref. 2018 IBC 107.2.1.
