Reference to and written requirements for mandatory performance of certain elements of the mechanical systems showing compliance with the 2018 International Energy Conservation Code do not appear to be included in the Mechanical Specifications on sheet M001 or elsewhere in the mechanical sheets. Please update the Specifications on sheet M001 and/or provide specifications elsewhere in the drawings tailored to Section C403.1 through C403.11, as applicable, of the 2018 IECC. For example, a. Add IECC 2018 to the Code list in item 2 and 3 of Part One – General on Specifications sheet M001. b. The Automatic Temperature Controls on Specification sheet M001 makes no mention of IECC mandatory requirements for deadband, off-hour controls, thermostatic setback, automatic start, etc. Please go through 2018 IECC Section C403.4 and add notation for mandatory controls. 3. The Mechanical Compliance Certificate (COMcheck) on sheet M002 is per the 2012 IECC. The City of Tucson adopted the 2018 IECC in January 2019. Please revise the COMcheck for current Code and required efficiencies. Ref. 21018 IECC C403.3. 4. Submit heating and cooling load calculations summary sheets to justify the capacities of the heating and cooling units shown in the Packaged Rooftop Unit Schedule on sheet M002. Per 2018 IECC C403.3.1 the output capacity of heating and cooling equipment shall be not greater than that of the smallest available equipment size that exceeds the loads calculated in accordance with Section C403.1.1. |
