| 09/22/2020 | ROBERT SHERRY | PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Reqs Change | 1. Show the new 3" floor cleanout downstream of S-2 on the waste & vent isometric. [Initial comment: Provide cleanouts for all horizontal drains (e.g. the 3" horizontal drain downstream of the clothes washer). Reference: Section 708.1.1, IPC 2018.] 2. The requirement of Section C404.5 is a maximum distance of 24" from the hot water source to the lavatory stop valve. [Initial comment: Verify that the distance from the hot water source to the hot water termination for the public lavatories complies with the requirements of Section C404.5, IECC 2018.] |
| 09/22/2020 | ROBERT SHERRY | MECHANICAL-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Reqs Change | 1. Correct the arithmetic used to calculate the required ventilation. The determination of the required ventilation for air handlers serving multiple zones requires the balancing data (supply CFM) for each zone and the calculations described in Sections 403.3.1.1.2.3.1 through 403.3.1.1.2.3.4, IMC 2018. Reference: Section 403.3.1.1.2.3, IMC 2018. [Initial comment: The City of Tucson has adopted the 2018 IMC as the approved method for calculating ventilation requirements.] 2. Condensate drains may not terminate over a roof drain or gutter unless the roof drain or gutter terminates at or below grade in an area capable of absorbing the condensate flow without surface drainage. Only one of the four roof drains on the building terminates in a landscaped area. Show the routing of the condensate drains on the drawing. (Note: the north arrows on sheets M1.1 and P1.1 are incorrect.) [Initial comment: Condensate drains shall be terminated at an approved disposal location. Reference: Section 307.2.1, IMC 2018, as amended by the City of Tucson.] 3. Locating the backdraft damper in the duct as shown in the dryer duct exhaust detail will require the addition of an accessible cleanout for the backdraft damper. Reference: Section 504.3, IMC 2018. [Initial comment: Revise the design for the termination of the clothes dryer exhaust to include a backdraft damper. Reference: Section 504.4, IMC 2018.] |
