06/08/2020 ROBERT SHERRY MECHANICAL-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Reqs Change 1. Revise the font size used on the drawings to a minimum height of 3/32-inch when printed. Reference: Section 107.2.1, IBC 2018.
2. Show that the proposed replacement air conditioning units (AC-1 and HP-2) meet the requirements of Sections C403.3, C403.4, and C403.5 (e.g. provide the mechanical compliance certification from COMcheck). Reference: Section C501.4, International Energy Conservation Code 2018.
3. Provide heating and cooling load calculations to justify the heating/cooling capacities of the specified HVAC units. Reference: Section C403.1.1 and C502.2.3, IECC 2018.
4. Clarify the dimensions of the existing hood; it is variously called out as 12-feet or 16-feet long with exhaust flow rates of 1800 CFM and 2400 CFM. Reference: Section 107.2.1, IBC 2018.
5. Show the location of the outside air intake opening for AC-2. Reference: Section 401.4, IMC 2018.
6. Clarify the ventilation calculations, coordinating the scheduled equipment data with the calculations. Reference: Section 403.3.1.1, IMC 2018.
7. Footnote b on Table 403.3.1.1, IMC 2018 states that mechanical exhaust is required for the kitchen and no air from the kitchen may be recirculated to any other space. AC-1 appears to be recirculating air from the kitchen to dining room 1. Reference: Section 403.2.1 (3), IMC 2018.
8. Provide balancing data on the mechanical plans for the air moving equipment; an air balance report will be required prior to the mechanical final inspection. Reference: Section 403.3.1.5, IMC 2018 as amended by the City of Tucson.

06/08/2020 ROBERT SHERRY PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Reqs Change 1. Verify the natural gas input for the proposed fryers (American Range AF25/25). Current data from the manufacturer does not list this model with an output of 122 MBH or an intput of 136 MBH. Reference: Section 402.2, IFGC 2018.
2. Clarify the connected loads (input ratings) for each appliance. Southwest Gas, the local gas utility provides natural gas with an energy content of approximately 1,000 BTU per cubic foot. For example, on sheet M2, the Mechanical Schedule shows AC-1 having a total gas input of 50 MBH (50,000 BTUH) but on P1, it is shown with an input of 156 MCFH (156,000,000 BTUH) Reference: Section 402.1, IFGC 2018.
3. Revise the natural gas pipe sizing calculations based on the volumetric flow of the natural gas as described in Sections 402.2 and 402.3, IFGC 2018.
4. Provide a design for the water distribution, including water isometrics. Reference: Section 107.2.1, IBC 2018
5. Appliances (e.g. beverage dispensers, ice makers, etc.) to be directly connected to the water supply system that do not have listed, integral backflow preventers or integral air gaps conforming to Section 608.14.1, IPC 2018 require backflow prevention. Specify the type of backflow prevention device required for each water connection. Reference: Sections 608.1 and 608.3, IPC 2018.
6. Interior waste piping upstream of the grease interceptor shall have a minimum slope of ΒΌ" per foot (2% slope). Reference: Section 704.1, IPC 2018.
7. Provide cleanouts for all horizontal drains; the cleanouts shall be sized per Section 708.1.7, IPC 2018 and shall open to allow cleaning in the direction of flow. Reference: Sections 708.1.1 and 708.1.8, IPC 2018
8. Provide an air gap for food-handling fixtures (e.g. the prep sink) and devices discharging potable clear-water waste. Reference: Sections 801.2, 802.1.1, and 802.1.3, IPC 2018.
9. Provide separate indirect waste pipes for each compartment of the 3-compartment sink to protect against cross-contamination or fouling (the 3-compartment sink is currently shown directly-connected). Reference: Sections 801.2 and 802.1.1, IPC 2018.
10. Show that each trap and trapped fixture has been vented in accordance with one of the methods shown in the IPC. Reference: Section 901.2.1, IPC 2018.
11. Verify that all of the vents in the building rise vertically to at least 6" above the flood rims of the fixtures they protect prior to running horizontally (e.g. the grease interceptor). Reference: Section 905.4, IPC 2018.
12. Verify that all horizontal vents forming branch vents, relief vents, or loop vents are located at least 6" above the flood rim of the highest fixture served. Reference: Section 905.5, IPC 2018.
