08/12/2020 ROBERT SHERRY PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Reqs Change 1. Verify that the specified sensor faucet for the public lavatories has an automatic time-out so that it will dispense a maximum of 0.25 gallons per metering cycle. Reference: Section 419.6, IPC 2018, as amended by the City of Tucson and Section 606.4, ICC/ANSI A117.1-09.
2. Verify that the pipe sizes called out for the flush valves will not result in water velocities greater than that recommended by the pipe manufacturer (e.g. limit the water velocity to less than 8 FPS for copper piping). At a minimum design flow rate of 25 GPM for a siphonic, flush-valve water closet, a 1" Type L copper pipe has a flow velocity of 9.7 FPS. Reference: Table 604.3, IPC 2018.
3. Provide roof drainage calculations and plans. Provide overflow protection for the roof. Reference: Sections 1101, 1106 and 1108, IPC 2018.
08/12/2020 ROBERT SHERRY MECHANICAL-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Reqs Change 1. Show the required minimum R-values for wall and roof insulation and the maximum U-factors and Solar Heat Gain Coefficients (SHGC) for the fenestration and doors on the architectural drawings to coordinate with the component descriptions in the COMcheck Envelope Compliance Certificate. Reference: Section C103.2, IECC 2018.
2. Provide heating and cooling load calculations to justify the heating/cooling capacities of the specified HVAC units. Reference: Section C403.1.1 and C403.3.1, IECC 2018.
3. Coordinate the fan schedule with the hangar air flow and controls diagram. The diagram has mislabeled fans. Reference: Section 107.2.1, IBC 2018.
4. Show the size, routing, and termination of the condensate drains. Reference: Sections 307.2.1 and 307.2.3, IMC 2018 as amended by the City of Tucson.
5. The City of Tucson did not adopt ASHRAE Standard 62.1 for ventilation calculations and the 2018 IMC only references the ASHRAE Standard for the purpose of calculating the system ventilation efficiency (Ev). Provide calculations to show that the ventilation system is sized in accordance with Section 403.3, IMC 2018.
6. Provide information on the sequence of operation for the restroom exhaust fans to show that all of the air supplied to the restrooms will be exhausted. Reference: Section 403.2.1 (4), IMC 2018.
